Celebrating 10 Years of Compassion: A Decade of Caring, Paw by Paw
On January 28, Friends of PACC was deeply honored to receive a county proclamation officially recognizing the day as Friends of PACC Day. This meaningful date marks the anniversary of when we received our 501(c)(3) status in 2016 and celebrates what has become a remarkable decade of service to pets and the people who love them.
Over the past 10 years, Friends of PACC has grown from a hopeful vision into a driving force for lifesaving support across Pima County. Together with our community, we created the Keeping Families Together Fund, helping pets stay where they belong - at home. We launched the beloved Tucson Subaru Pets of Pima Parade, bringing thousands together in celebration of the human-animal bond. We expanded access to care through Karen’s Karing Van, delivering mobile medical services to pets in need, and invested $1 million in spay and neuter services to increase access to low-cost care for vulnerable animals. We also opened the Friends Pet Clinic, providing affordable follow-up care for adopters of Pima Animal Care Center pets, and we are preparing for the upcoming Eastside PACC Adoptions Center (EPAC), which will expand adoption opportunities in our community.
To mark this milestone, Friends of PACC partnered with Dogs-n-Donuts to celebrate in the sweetest way possible - treating every cat and dog at PACC to a pet-friendly birthday cake. At the heart of every achievement, every program, and every milestone are the animals who inspire our work each day.
As we reflect on our top 10 moments from the past decade, we are also looking ahead. The launch of the NEXT 10 Fund will help power the next chapter of lifesaving work and ensure we can continue to innovate, respond, and grow alongside the needs of our community.
