#GivingTuesday is an international day of giving when people come together to support their favorite causes. Our community always goes above and beyond for pets, and it’s only with that support from compassionate people like you that we are saving more lives than ever before.

This Giving Tuesday, we need your help to keep pets out of the shelter. Friends of PACC’s Keeping Families Together fund prevents hundreds of pets from coming into the shelter every year due to medical needs that are cost-prohibitive for their families. Some families love their pets and want to provide the best care possible, but live in areas of our community with a shortage of veterinary offices and pet supply stores.

Our Pet Support Hotline connects thousands of families with referrals to trainers, boarding, pet-friendly housing, critical medical supplies and services, and the networking that gets pets into safe and loving homes through local rescue groups. We hope you’ll join us in this celebration of giving with an investment in our community’s pets and their people.

With your support even more pets will have the chance to stay with their families and thrive.

At just a few years old, Blinkin the cat was taken to a vet for a degenerative eye issue.  Following his initial surgery, Blinkin developed a painful infection and his owner called the Pet Support Hotline for help. Thanks to referrals and financial support from donors like you, Blinkin was able to get the critical corrective surgery he needed and is now safe and healthy at home with his family.

Slinky’s family loved him very much. He was the perfect family dog but got very sick one day. It was discovered that he had a kidney/bladder stone and needed an expensive surgery. His owners simply could not afford his care and were devastated when they called PACC to surrender him. With the help of our Keeping Families Together fund Friends of PACC was able to pay for his surgery. Slinky recovered and stayed at home with his people instead of ending up in the shelter.

Our Pup in Boots project also keeps families together by supporting pets and their people who are facing homelessness. To address this lack of resources, last year, our Pup in Boots project supplied over 7,000 pounds of pet food, thousands of leashes, collars, dog booties, collapsible water bowls, and more to nearly 2,000 people and their pets.

Pets belong with their families and, as great as the new shelter is, surrendering a pet should be a last resort. Sometimes all it takes to keep a family together is providing owners with a leash and fencing supplies. Sometimes all it takes is a free microchip or vaccine clinic. What it always takes is your help.

You can support pets and the families who love them by giving a gift today.

There are even more ways to share your love of pets in need this Giving Tuesday:

  • Volunteer: Pets need people! You can be a homeless pet’s person during their stay at the shelter when you volunteer to walk dogs, play with cats, assist in the clinic, and more! Click here for more information and to apply.

  • Foster: You can give pets a much needed break from the shelter when you foster! From one night pawjama parties to months long care for an injured pet, you can make a huge difference in a pet’s life by letting them stay at your place for awhile. Click here to learn all about PACC’s lifesaving foster program.

  • Adopt: PACC takes in over 17,000 pets every year at an average of 50-100 every single day. If you’re looking for a new family member you’re sure to find pets of all breeds, size, and age at the shelter. Come find your new best friend!
